Where most products on the market offer flame resistance OR moisture wicking, usually one at the expense of the other, DriFire gives superior flame resistance AND moisture wicking over poly armour, cotton or traditional flame resistant material. DriFire products are inherently flame resistant by the nature of their 85% modacrylic fibre, there are no topical chemical treatments and the flame resistance will never wash out. Modacrylic is a no melt, no drip, self-extinguishing fibre that forms a char-barrier when exposed to intense heat and/or flame. Like other FR fibres, DRIFIRE actively works to maintain fabric integrity by off-gassing in the presence of flame to starve the fire of oxygen. After extinguishing the flame, an inert char-barrier cools the fabric immediately. Unlike poly armour garments DriFire will not burn sustainable and WILL NOT drip or melt into the skin. With the increased threat of IEDs in the field traditional poly armour products designed for heat and moisture management that will ignite or melt to the skin in a flash are unacceptable.

Traditional Flame Resistant garments have been hot, thick and uncomfortable to wear, especially in the hostile climates of many of todays operational theatres. Drifire garments feature Dri-release (R) technology for superior moisture wicking, drying 4 times quicker than cotton and minimizing sweat pooling. Not only does this mean Drifire keeps you more comfortable in the heat but wearers will experience improved operational performance through reduced heat stress, dehydration and fatigue. Likewise when it is cold DriFire garments will not pool sweat like cotton meaning you won't suffer from chills as your body temperature drops after activity.

Drifire garments feature Microban (R) and FreshGuard (R) technologies built into the fabric to minimise bacteria build-up which not only reduces odour but helps suppress skin irritation and rashes caused by infections. As with its Flame Resistance the anti bacterial properties of Drifire are intrinsic to the garments, NOT topical treatments, so they WONT wash out.

DRIFIRE flame resistance fabrics are not intended for protection from prolonged exposure to flame and misuse could cause significant bodily harm. However, Drifire flame resistant fabrics use advanced science to create more protection from conditions like flash fires.
